Zenmode

No cultural appropriation. Just the closest term to running easy, taking in the sights and sounds, being open to the beauty, wonder, and intrigue I can see on my runs, and taking photos to capture the moment to perhaps share the chilled-out, alive feeling.

I quit cigarettes cold turkey after smoking for 29 years, in May 2014.

I started walking more in 2015, and from April 2015 to April 2016 I lost 35 kg (80 lbs), using the free My Fitness Pal app to track calories.

Along the way (September 22, 2015), I started running, when my regular walk wasn’t fast enough, and I started doing parkrun every week.

I ran my first marathon at age 50 in August 2017.

I ran 50 km on June 10, 2018.

I’ve been told I’m inspirational, and I should start a blog. I did stuff by making a bit of effort every day. I’ve written things all over the place, so now I’m putting it together here. I hope to keep trying, and keep seeing and learning the beautiful truth that is out there.

You might as well keep trying because the time will pass anyway.
